How to deal with fashion
If you want to be IN, go shopping with your mother or grandmother. Often you will see phrases like, “This is what they wore when they were young” in front of the window. But it\’s right. Because everything has been done before, and designers now need to come up with something new. So they go back to the past for inspiration.
If anything has come back, it is the oversized sweater or the long skirt. For a long time, wide-skirted viscose dresses ruled the catwalks. But as fall approaches once again, oversized sweaters are back in the limelight, and one of the biggest trends of the 1980s was the big sweater with batwing sleeves. They could be colorful, motif sweaters, or anything else. Because they were easy to cut, most of them were crocheted at home.
The hippie era was already a hit last year. This fall, A-line mini-skirts and bell-bottoms are IN, as are trench coats and peaked-capped beanies.
Not forgetting midi dresses. Natural as well as earth colors and floral patterns are popular.
Coats, jackets, and boots came to be made of lacquered, largely man-made materials, and by the 1970s they were already an essential part of a woman\’s wardrobe. They are still fashionable today.
Along with hats and gloves, cat-eye glasses complemented every outfit. Most were made of plastic and came in several colors. Over time, cat-eye glasses became more ornate and more complex. As an accessory, cat-eye glasses appeared many times.
Seamstresses dreamed of leopard-skin coats and snakeskin handbags; in the early 1950s, real fur adorned the shoulders of movie stars. Later, however, imitations began to replace them. Animal prints have certainly not lost their popularity.
Have you heard of the pleating technique? This technique often appears as an embellishment on skirts, dresses, and sleeves. Today, pleats are making a comeback.
