And not just today. Travel has existed for a long time and has been commonplace for our peoples for decades and centuries. And our ancient ancestors must have gone somewhere at least once, too, with different motivations than we do today.

The modern age, however, is much more travel-friendly than that of the past. This is because transportation has only evolved over time and nothing was immediately there, so travel used to not be so great, and under the previous regime, it was not only transportation that made travel difficult for a change, but also the general ideology that kept us behind the Iron Curtain It was much more the general ideology that kept us behind the Iron Curtain.

Today, we have abundant transportation, the world is wide open to our people with few exceptions, and money can usually be earned here. Perhaps only our wives, or husbands, or offspring, or health status can draw the proverbial line across the budget.

And when people can travel, they do. The reasons are varied. Sometimes for pleasure, sometimes for knowledge, sometimes for various other reasons. And sometimes for no reason at all. Sometimes I pack 5 dried plums or other things I might need on the road or at my destination.We may encounter many things on our journey, both pleasant and unpleasant, but we still go to a strange land again and again. To experience things that we would not be able to at home.
