Wash gently and economically!
If you are also struggling with the problem of expensive laundry detergents that are even more unfriendly to nature, then this is exactly the place to start. I decided it was important to go against nature and put as little strain on it as possible. So I decided to make my own homemade laundry detergent.
Naturally, I researched how to make such homemade laundry detergent. The person who publishes those instructions promises that if you follow them, you will not only save a lot of money, but also protect your health. Industrially produced laundry detergents contain bleaching ingredients that can irritate the skin, eyes, and respiratory tract, making them unsuitable for allergy sufferers and children, for example. In addition, home production costs 5 kroner per liter and takes 10 minutes.
Let\’s look at what is needed to make 10 liters of this detergent. 10 liters of boiling water
5. a grater
6. a cooking pot
7. a 10 liter pot/jug
8. a bottle for the manufactured gel
and If you have these materials at home, howshould you proceed?
A. Finely grate the laundry soap
B. Mix the grated soap into the boiling water
C. When the soap is dissolved, add the washing soda
D. Stir until the soap and soda are completely dissolved
E. Stop boiling and let cool
F. Then Add essential oils
G. Let stand for a full day
H. If gel seems thick, mix with a stick blender
I. If gel still seems thick, add boiling water and stir or mix some more
J. Pour into a container provided
K. Wash
Comparing the price of homemade washing gel and purchased washing gel, the winner is clearly homemade gel. If one buys a really good quality laundry gel that removes all kinds of stains, it costs 130,000 CZK per liter. The difference is obvious.
However, we also need to compare how this homemade laundry gel washes with commercial gels. Clearly, when comparing the performance of the homemade gel and the commercial gel, the bought laundry gel wins. It washes away all kinds of dirt. Tested with grass, watermelon, lemonade, tomatoes, ketchup, stains, and coffee. Only the coffee left a small stain, but if you didn\’t know, you wouldn\’t be able to tell at a quick glance. In the case of the homemade gel wash, the coffee stain was immediately and clearly found. Apart from that, the grass stain was also clearly there. The other stains were washed away. In other words, in terms of the quality of the wash, the purchased product won.
Let me evaluate the product as follows. From an economic standpoint, the product would be suitable for families with children. However, it is not suitable in terms of laundry quality, as children often come from grassy areas and bring home a variety of other stubborn stains.
–Purchased gels are suitable for people with small children, without skin problems or allergies. Of course, they must be in good financial situation.
